We’re currently identifying unknown organic compounds in my organic chemistry class and one of my unknowns happens to be DL-Malic acid. This is listed, among other acids, as an ingredient in warheads. I’m tempted to taste it, just to see how sour the concentrated solid is despite it being a really terrible idea. Does anyone know the average pKa of the sour flavoring used in warheads?
